The publication contains information about the most notable contributor to martial arts in the time frame for 1964 through 1970 framed mostly in the tristate area. Although the first Martial arts classes was in Columbia University where middle to upper class white university students who could pay the tuition took classes. However, Several war campaigns, like the Korean conflict, Cambodia and Laos, and finally Vietnam would have black soldier returning home and returning to the circumstance of which they came.
The 1964 civil rights bill was a signal for equal rights. Allot of those returning soldiers started to teach students from their neighborhood so that the youth would benefit from the physical and psychological qualities that the returnees had found helpful during the tour.
Many of their students are still teaching today! The internet is a viable search engine for validating instructors.
